Repeat ISIS Customer

We get a lot of repeat customers.  Once a guy wires his car with our ISIS Power system, he never goes back to a traditional wiring harness.  Joe M. is a great example.  You have seen his handiwork before.  We had his Ferrari P4 in our booth at the 2010 SEMA show.  That was a spectacular example of simplicity and elegance in the wiring.

Joe approached us in mid-2012, ready to wire another.  He was doing a complete restoration to a 1967 Camaro and he wanted to wire it again using our ISIS Intelligent Multiplex System.  This car is a little more involved than the Ferrari.  He wanted our inTOUCH MAX touch screen in the dash.  He wanted to control everything from the screen including his lights, the ignition, the starter, his windows and his heat & A/C.  This car is wired with our 3-Cell Kit.  He added inMOTION for his windows and locks plus inVIRONMENT to control his Vintage Air Gen-IV.  Lastly, they wired their gauge cluster using our inDASH harness.  Helped by Mark Mc, the finished product is pretty spectacular.

This Camaro was born as a Bolero Red, 6-Cylinder car with a 3-speed manual transmission. It was built in March 1967 in Van Nuys, California. At some point in its life, it was converted to a 350 C.I. V-8 paired with a 700R4 automatic transmission; likely done sometime in the 80’s. A previous owner had painted it white with a backyard-quality paint job during which no one bothered to remove the trim, windows, or bumpers. When Joe bought it, it was completely disassembled and stripped of its paint. All the parts acquired with it were stuffed into the body shell. Thankfully most of the sheet metal was solid and required little rust repair, but it had been hit in the rear necessitating the replacement of a quarter panel, rear taillight panel, and the rear valance panel. The hood was also replaced with a Goodmark cowl hood.

Here are some more details on the build:

  • Lexus Ultrasonic Blue Mica Paint sprayed by Lee Webb
  • Corbeau Sport front seats
  • Custom-sewn cover for rear bench seat to match fronts
  • GM 5.7L LS1 Engine (dyno’d at 430 flywheel horsepower)
  • Tremec TR-6060 6-speed transmission
  • C5 Corvette front control arms, sway bars and front brakes
  • Detroit Speed & Engineering steering rack
  • Strange Engineering single-adjustable coilover shocks, front and rear
  • Art Morrison Parallel 4-Bar rear suspension w/adjustable panhard bar
  • Shaved dash switches
  • A/C Ducts frenched into steel dash
  • Custom sheetmetal transmission tunnel
  • Custom sheetmetal dash center section for Stereo/Nav and inTouch Max
  • Smoothed firewall
  • Custom TIG-welded stainless steel exhaust with Borla ProXS mufflers
  • Vintage Air Gen IV HVAC controlled by ISIS inTouch Max
  • Large Griffin aluminum radiator mounted behind stock core support with widened opening
  • Shaved drop rails
  • Shaved emblems
  • CPP 7” Dual-diaphragm brake booster
  • Build time: Approximately 2,000 hours
Here is a great shot of the dash.  You can see our inTOUCH MAX screen below the stereo.  The other thing that you will notice is that there are no other switches in the car.  Everything is controlled from our touch screen.

The front POWERCELL is mounted in the front, left corner of the car.  This makes it very easy to see and very accessible.  These cells are sealed and rated for under hood temperature.

The MASTERCELL is mounted right behind the shifter.  They fabricated a clever cover that conceals the MASTERCELL but still makes it accessible if necessary.

With our inDASH harness, the wiring for the gauge cluster is clean and very neat.

They mounted the rear POWERCELL and the inMOTION cell on a custom panel in the trunk.

The overall car is great.  It performs, it looks awesome and the paint pops.  On top of that, the wiring is simple, clean and neat.  Congratulations to Joe and Mark on a tremendous build.

Keep an eye on this car.  You will be seeing it again.

  1. Any chance you have a wiring diagram for this setup? I am in the process of setting up my 1967 camaro with InTouch, InVironment, and InMotion controllers.

If not, do you have any diagrams on how the MasterCell is used when you are eliminating all of the switches in the vehicle (inTouch Max)?

Finally, any chance of getting in touch with Joe?

    Thanks!
    Dan
