Here's another great example of the flexibility and agility of ISIS. This is one of those customer car that bridges between the aftermarket and commercial side of our business. Remember that ISIS was designed to help commercial customers wire their vehicles. Its original intent was for construction vehicles, agricultural equipment, military trucks and off-highway equipment.
Dean N approached us towards the end of 2011 with this unique 1960 Chevrolet Ambulance. It is a rare car because it is believed to be the only vehicle produced by that upfitter in 1960. So he needed a way to refresh the wiring in the car while being as non-invasive as possible. At the same time, he needed a way to control the original light bars, wig-wags and other lights in the ambulance.
Since this ambulance has been around for over 50 years, it has been modified several times by each guy who owned it. This meant that the wiring had been hacked into several times. Here are a few pictures of where Dean started to rewire this car.
Dean started with our 3-Cell Kit with inLINK. He added an extra POWERCELL to carry the extra lighting that he has plus the controller for the air suspension that he installed. We created some custom code that allows him to directly control all of the lighting on the ambulance. He was able to remove a significant amount of the original wire harness plus a lot of the unnecessary relays. The end result is a much cleaner wire harness with less weight and complexity.
