Update from Santa Pod Raceway

Simon Gough and his team are making some good passes with the Alston Racing 2012 Camaro wired with our ISIS Intelligent Multiplex System.  They are running the car in the Super Pro ET class in the FIA European Finals this weekend. 

Their last pass was 8.89 seconds in the 1/4 mile with a 60-foot time of about 1.29 seconds.  Pretty good considering how few runs they have on the car.  As Simon gets a feel for how it behaves, this will only improve.

Drag Camaro Made it to the UK!

The Alston Racing 2012 Camaro just landed in its new home in the United Kingdom.  Simon Gough and his crew uncrated this naturally aspirated beast over the weekend and already have it on the track.  They did some testing and tuning on the car while Simon was here at the Great Lakes Dragaway.  Now it is time to qualify.

Oxygen Audio- O-Car Head Unit

When we released our inTOUCH Mobile product at SEMA 2010, we received tons of great feedback on the product.  ISIS Power gave the market powerful capabilities to control cars through the iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch.

GTM Start with inTOUCH MAX Screen

We blogged yesterday about our customer in Puerto Rico who is wiring his Factory Five GTM with our ISIS Intelligent Multiplex System.  He had posted a video on YouTube showing off how he can control the car through his iPhone using our inTOUCH Mobile. 

He is installing the works in this car.  Not only has he wired the car with our 3-Cell Kit and added inTOUCH Mobile for control off of his iPhone, but he has our inTOUCH MAX double DIN touch screen in his dash to replace most of his switches. 

On one hand, ISIS is adding a lot of functions to his car: iPhone control, lighting control, delays, timers, touch screen interfaces, etc.  Sometimes, ISIS true benefits come from what it eliminates from the car.  In this case, he has eliminated the need for extra relays, fuses and high current switches.  In particular, the inTOUCH MAX screen dramatically reduces the number of switches in the car.  It completely streamlines the dash. 

Here is a simple video of him starting the car with the inTOUCH MAX screen.  The car is in the go-kart stage and nothing is mounted yet but you can get a good feel for what you can do with it.

GTM Controlled by ISIS inTOUCH Mobile

A lot of people try to compare ISIS to a traditional wiring harness.  Here is a great example of something that you can't do with an old-fashioned box of fuses and relays with snakes of wire. 

Hugo H has been an ISIS customer for several years.  He is building a Factory Five GTM in his shop on Puerto Rico.  If you get some time, check out some of the videos on his YouTube channel.  There is something very exotic about palm trees.  We certainly don't have that here in Chicago. 

Any way, he is making great progress on his GTM build.  He is wiring his car with our 3-Cell Kit.  He has added inTOUCH Mobile and inTOUCH MAX to add that extra level of control in his car. 

He just posted a video on YouTube showing off how he can control his car from his iPhone.  Through his iPhone with the ISIS Power app and inTOUCH Mobile, he can control his lighting, security, locks, windows and more. 

inTOUCH Mobile is an easy upgrade to any 2 or 3-Cell Kit.  There are no extra electronics boxes to mount in the car, nor are there complicated connections to make. You simply add the inTOUCH Mobile Wi-Fi board to the MASTERCELL to get control that no other wiring system can offer you.

Debut of Alson Racing 20120 Drag Camaro

Mike Ruth and his team at Alston Racing just debuted their new 2012 Camaro drag car.  This is built on their own tube chassis with a body produced by VFN.  Mike and his team have put a ton of effort into this car and it showed when they ran it for the first time at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin this week. 
Simon Gough is the owner, and he flew in from England to take the car on its maiden run down the track this week.  This was a great chance for him to break it in and get a good feel for how it runs.  After a few test & tune runs, they had it dialed in perfectly. 

We have been working with the Alston team to create their own Alston Performance Electrical System, which is a revolutionary wiring system for all types of drag cars and dragsters.  It uses our rock-solid ISIS Power system with a simple bank of switches to control all of the switched functions including lights, starter solenoids, fuel pumps, water pumps, cooling fans, trans cooler fans, dash power and MSD power.  Just like any of our other ISIS solutions, it offers a much simpler wiring harness with less weight and less complexity.  The owner's first comment when he saw ISIS installed in the car was "Where is all of the wiring?". 

As an added benefit, ISIS gives Simon's crew important diagnostic functions to help them find electrical problems right there at the track.

Detailed GTM Project Blog

We love a really organized, planned and documented car project.  We stumbled across a great one. 

This guy is building a Factory Five GTM and he is taking it pretty extreme.  We have been working with him to specify the right ISIS Power components that he will need to wire this car.  He has a lot of electronics functions in the car and wants the best way to control them.  At the same time, he doesn't want a ton of wire in the car nor does he want a bunch of extra relays. 

He's planning on using our 3-Cell Kit for all of the base car functions with an extra POWERCELL.  We have a configuration specific to the GTM.  You can see it here.  From there, he wants to add inMOTION to control his power windows and the tilt/telescope functions on the Corvette steering column.  He wants to add inVIRONMENT to control his Vintage Air Gen-IV heat & air-conditioning system.  Lastly, he wants to add inRESERVE to manage his battery. 

He has everything laid out neatly in a schematic, even before he has ordered his hardware.
